The Chainsaw Proctologists nipped the Streator Reds 3 to 2 at the ballpark in
a hard fought contest.
Chainsaw did all the necessary damage in the 5th inning with 3 runs using 3
hits. After an out was recorded, Marcus Thames initiated the scoring spurt
when he slapped a single. Jeff Baker came next and he doubled. Garret
Anderson got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.
Kosuke Fukudome stepped in and he drew a walk. Gerald Laird came to the
plate and doubled. Brendan Harris got his turn next, but he was a strikeout
victim. Streator had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
The winning pitcher was Boof Bonser(2-4) who allowed 2 runs in 6 innings.
Bonser got relief help from Chan Ho Park who gained credit for his 6th save.
Francisco Liriano(1-1) took the loss. He struck out 7 batters in 4 and 2/3
innings despite losing the game.
